Ipod Shuffle is another Apple product that we have tested. As popular as Mac Book, or even more, a significant number of people can’t imagine a single day without a mp3 or mp4 player on. Ipod is at the very top of the most often picked players. Why actually?
Relatively, it is really small. Not only
can it store a hundreds of songs but also gives you a whole variety of options
in this small form. It is only 1.14 inches tall and 1.24 inches wide. It comes
in five colours: silver, blue, green, orange and pink. It looks pretty girly, so it may not to be up
to the likes of boys and men necessarily. The first feature which we like,
though, is a clip on the back of the player which enables it to pin it to a
piece of clothing. What’s important it really stays where it is supposed to be,
which is important when you walk, run or exercise. At the front, the player has
a control pad with five buttons. As Apple claims, the control is 18 percent
larger than the previous Shuffle models. Indeed, it comes very handy. You can
easily navigate it, skip the tracks backward and forward and change the volume,
play, pause and stop the music. But what was an awesome surprise to us is how
you can command the player by just flipping it. If you want to shuffle the
tracks you flip the iPod Shuffle to the left. If you want to play the you have
there in order, you flip the device to the middle. In order to turn the iPod
shuffle off you just flip it to the right. Although we were skeptical towards
such a solution, we have to admit it works perfectly and that this is an extremely
useful and, well, fun thing to do.
A big plus of the Apple device is 15 hours
of battery life. It is a lot of time in comparison to some other players and
allows for listening to music or audiobooks during long travels without the
need of taking care of recharging the battery. The memory of the device is 2GB,
which in our opinion is a lot of space. And what’s more you can create a few different
playlists to accompany every activity throughout your day.
We must add that what we liked
the most in Ipod Shuffle is the VoiceOver button. It is located on the top of
the device and when pressed, it tells you the name or the artist of a given song.
It will also tell you how much of your battery is left. The feature speaks in
25 different languages, so it will tell
you the title of a Spanish or French song easily.
Does it have any minuses?
Well, there is no display screen. For some it may be disturbing or uncomfortable.
We think it’s fine. It’s great for long, varied and for intensive time of
using. We definitely want one.
