Alienware M18X 18.4" Laptop Computer

Here is another classic: Alienware laptop computer, famous among gamers all over the world.

The specifications:

·  3D-capable 18.4-inch HD display with 1920x1080 resolution

·  Intel Core i7 quad-core processor

·  nVidia GeForce GTX 460M graphics card

·  8GB DDR3 RAM, upgradeable to 32GB

·  1TB 7200RPM Solid State Hybrid

We all know this is the most powerful 18-inch gaming laptop in our universe. And we all know it deals with the most intensive and hardcore games. We must admit that undermining this was a bad idea. Alienware is awesome!

It has plenty of entertainment features, including the wide screen, two HDMI input and output ports and a slot-Load Dual Layer DVD+/-RW optical drive. At first glance Alienware is huge and solid. You can barely keep it in one hand. We know this has a reason but honestly, it is good to know that we are dealing with a big machine in fact. The battery is very good too: 5 hours of constant playing is a pretty good result. What is more, heat dissipation is so balanced that the laptop never got hot at this time. This is what a true gaming laptop should be like, definitely.

The famous lighted keyboard works really well. It is ergonomic and easy to feel. And, we must admit, it is very appealing and flashy.  We cannot say a bad word about Alienware but it is important to know it is hard to use it like a normal laptop. It is too heavy in comparison to any notebook and not practical for other kinds of use. We did the research too and found that people sometimes complain about problems with drivers. We did not have any – maybe these are problems only with particular single items. To sum up – we have never come across a better notebook for gaming!

Monster HDMI Cable 1000 HD

After our last review of HDMI Connection Lab cables we decided to test another as we use HDMI cables a lot. This time we have tested Monster 1000 HD. This has got the largest bandwidth, greater than 17.8 Gbps.  It is famous and popular and we decided to check whether it is worth its fame.

First of all, its price is really high.  We know we were convincing you that quality equals a proper price. But these cables seem to be really valuable.
Yes, they worked perfectly well but after trying 3D signals, the TV picture flashed on and off and was shaky. It took some time to set this, though, it finally worked. Beside initial problems they worked just as they should. Monster Cables’ housing is bronze, which is additional plus of their quality. They support audio, including Dolby Digital, True HD and DTS-HD Master-Audio. In general – the cables works well, with everything. Apparently, in comparison to Connection Lab cables they caused some problems though and this is the main difference, for minus!

Many websites will tell you to choose any HDMI cable available. We need to say NO to that again. More expensive cables = better quality and there is no denying this fact. More vibrant colours, a way better sound quality – these are all important factors that confirm the thesis that we should not pick among the cheapest items. But there is one thing worth realizing: not all more expensive cables are good enough. And it is worth to remember that we do not necessarily need the most expensive cables for home use. To be honest: Monster cables are good. Just as good as any other of their league.

Apple Ipod Shuffle 4th Generation

Ipod Shuffle is another Apple product that we have tested. As popular as Mac Book, or even more, a significant number of people can’t imagine a single day without a mp3 or mp4 player on. Ipod is at the very top of the most often picked players. Why actually?

Relatively, it is really small. Not only can it store a hundreds of songs but also gives you a whole variety of options in this small form. It is only 1.14 inches tall and 1.24 inches wide. It comes in five colours: silver, blue, green, orange and pink.  It looks pretty girly, so it may not to be up to the likes of boys and men necessarily. The first feature which we like, though, is a clip on the back of the player which enables it to pin it to a piece of clothing. What’s important it really stays where it is supposed to be, which is important when you walk, run or exercise. At the front, the player has a control pad with five buttons. As Apple claims, the control is 18 percent larger than the previous Shuffle models. Indeed, it comes very handy. You can easily navigate it, skip the tracks backward and forward and change the volume, play, pause and stop the music. But what was an awesome surprise to us is how you can command the player by just flipping it. If you want to shuffle the tracks you flip the iPod Shuffle to the left. If you want to play the you have there in order, you flip the device to the middle. In order to turn the iPod shuffle off you just flip it to the right. Although we were skeptical towards such a solution, we have to admit it works perfectly and that this is an extremely useful and, well, fun thing to do.

A big plus of the Apple device is 15 hours of battery life. It is a lot of time in comparison to some other players and allows for listening to music or audiobooks during long travels without the need of taking care of recharging the battery. The memory of the device is 2GB, which in our opinion is a lot of space. And what’s more you can create a few different playlists to accompany every activity throughout your day.

We must add that what we liked the most in Ipod Shuffle is the VoiceOver button. It is located on the top of the device and when pressed, it tells you the name or the artist of a given song. It will also tell you how much of your battery is left. The feature speaks in 25  different languages, so it will tell you the title of a Spanish or French song easily.

Does it have any minuses? Well, there is no display screen. For some it may be disturbing or uncomfortable. We think it’s fine. It’s great for long, varied and for intensive time of using. We definitely want one.

ConnectionLAB HDC-15 Premium 15m HDMI cable

Although some say that there is no difference among all the HDMI cables available on the market, it is obvious, in the long run, that there is a difference and it is really notable. We have checked ConnectionLAB HDC-15 Premium 15m HDMI cable for you. The brand is engaged in providing solutions in connectivity and audio-video technology and so it seemed it should be a reasonable choice. And it seemed well.

First of all, the greatest advantage of this product is the distance it can be used on. 15 mettre long cable is a huge facilitation as you do not need to add any extension cords to fit it to your interiors’ space. It has HDMI A-HDMI A connectors. The high-speed HDMI works very well and literally there were no slowdowns or whatsoever. The ConnectionLAB cables support Full HD 1080P Signal.

It is important to mention its quality, visible even before you use it. The metal plug is crafted so that it prevents all mechanical damages. We tend to forget how vital such details are in terms of technology, yet here is a reminder: quality matters. The HDMI cables have gold plated contacts to prevent oxidation and, although we have tested these for a short period of time, it is obvious that it will work. In terms of cheaper cables, well, you can imagine what will happen. Oxygen-Free conductor is yet another plus of this master-crafted item. The producer promises a durable mesh-shield and although it can be tested only in a very long term tests, we are eager to believe it.
The ConnectionLAB HDMI HDC-15 Premium cable just works and it works perfectly. No slowdowns, no noises or disruptions, no distortion of the view. HDMI is the future of audio-visual technology, we all know it. But never believe those who claim all HDMI cables are the same. This one may be one of the best and it’s worth its price.
